Welcome to FilmConnect. By using this platform, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Purpose of the Platform

FilmConnect is an industry networking and discovery platform for filmmakers, theatre professionals, and creatives. We display and re-organise information that is already publicly available on third-party platforms (e.g. YouTube, Vimeo, official websites, and other public sources).

FilmConnect does not act as a publisher or host of original content. Instead, it provides an alternative format for viewing, organising, and discovering publicly available creative works.

2. Source of Content

All videos, images, and metadata displayed on FilmConnect originate from public platforms such as YouTube and Vimeo, where they have already been published by the author or copyright holder.

FilmConnect does not alter, edit, or claim ownership of this content.

We provide links or embedded players as permitted by those platforms’ APIs and terms of service.

3. Copyright & Intellectual Property

Copyright remains with the original creators and rights holders.

By embedding or displaying works, FilmConnect does not assert ownership, nor do we provide any warranties regarding rights clearance.

Any issues regarding copyright should be directed to the original platform (e.g. YouTube, Vimeo).

If a rights holder wishes their content removed from FilmConnect, we will comply promptly upon written request.

4. Cast & Credits Representation

Cast and crew listings are derived from existing public sources.

Principal cast and supporting cast will be displayed separately from featured extras, in line with industry standards (e.g. IMDb).

FilmConnect cannot guarantee the accuracy or completeness of credits and accepts no liability for errors, omissions, or misrepresentations.

5. Consent & Responsibility

Because all content is sourced from existing public platforms, consent to publish has already been provided by the original uploader.

FilmConnect assumes no responsibility for verifying whether that uploader had rights to distribute the material.

6. Monetisation

FilmConnect may introduce monetisation features such as subscriptions, advertising, or paid tools.

Such monetisation relates to FilmConnect’s organisational and networking features, not to the ownership or licensing of third-party content.

7. Liability Disclaimer

FilmConnect does not act as an agent, employer, or guarantor of any content, credits, or productions displayed.

Users rely on the accuracy of public information at their own risk.

FilmConnect is not liable for any disputes, reputational loss, or claims arising from use of third-party content.

8. Removal Requests

Rights holders may request removal of content by contacting john@stericker.com.

FilmConnect will act in good faith to remove or update content when notified.

9. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction.

Privacy & Data Use

FilmConnect only collects basic user account details (if applicable) and publicly available production information.

We do not sell personal data to third parties.

Any analytics used are aggregated and anonymised.
